New Tourist Attraction in the vicinity of Rakovica - Winnetou Land
In the valley about ten kilometers from Rakovica, is open Native American village, in which visitors can experience the childhood dreams of “Cowboys and Indians”, a junior game with focus on nature.
The village will be open during the tourist season (from April to October) and will offer entertainment for children and adults such as shooting bow, riding on a pony horse, sleeping in a tent, as well as cinema screenings in the open.
This is an ideal place for relaxation and recreation of all generations.
Winnetou Land also preparing a rich music program, and with the Native American settlement soon are plans to build a western ranch.

Winnetou Land is the new Croatian tourist brand and Rakovica near Plitvice Lakes is ideal location that would become the central place of Winnetou in Croatia. The legendary figure of Karl May novels was extremely popular in this areas as here Winnetou-movies were made and the area was "home" for Apache and Native Americans, where in 1960`s during the making of movies hundreds of locals participated in the shooting as a co-actors, or co-workers.
Rakovica is community in Karlovac County. It is situated just bordering with National Park Plitvice on the main road from Karlovac to Plitvice and further south.
